Emma Simons is a dance artist and personal trainer originally from Charlotte, North Carolina. She began dancing at the age of three and spent her formative years training and competing nationally, serving as an assistant at various dance conventions across the country.
Emma is currently pursuing her BFA in Dance and Performance at George Mason University under the direction of Susan Shields, with a minor in Arts Management. During her time at Mason, she has had the opportunity to perform works by esteemed choreographers including Robert Battle, Robyn Mineko Williams, Doug Varone, Christopher D’Amboise, Kyle Abraham (under the instruction of Jae Neal), and Shaun D’Arcy, among others.
Her training extends beyond the university, having attended intensives with Springboard Danse Pittsburgh, Ballets Jazz Montréal, BODYTRAFFIC, Doug Varone and Dancers, and Dance West Fest. These experiences have allowed her to work closely with renowned artists such as Noa Zuk, Shamel Pitts, Sidra Bell, Alexandra Damiani, Fernando Magadán, Arika Yamada, Tamisha Guy, and Akira Uchida.
In addition to her dance practice, Emma is passionate about health and wellness. She is a certified personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine and has worked with a wide range of individuals—from those recovering from illness to fellow dancers seeking supplemental training. Her goal is to help others define and achieve their own version of true health through movement, strength, and mindful support.
Emma is expected to graduate in Spring 2026 and looks forward to a career that bridges her love for performance with her commitment to physical wellness.
